BB Clarke Beach - Lake Monona

DESCRIPTION:
BB Clarke Beach opened in 1901 and had the first public bathhouse in the city. It is frequently closed due to high blue green algae levels. From 2005 to 2009, the beach was closed 17 times (50 days total) for blue green algae, and 2 times (4 days) for bacteria.
